FORMER PASTORS OF ST. PAUL'S

THE REV. DANIEL BLOOMQUIST

The Board of American Missions of the Lutheran Church in America sent Pastor Bloomquist to Carson City to establish a new congregation. The first service was held November 15, 1965 at the Leisure Hour Hall and continued to meet there until the current building was completed in 1969.  The congregation was officially organized on May 21, 1967.  Pastor Bloomquist was installed on September 17, 1967 and served the congregation through 1969.

THE REV. GERALD ST. JOHN

Pastor St. John served as Pastor from 1970 to 1977.

THE REV. KENN BERGMANN

Pastor Bergmann served the congregation from 1977 to 1984. In 1982 Pastor Bergmann invited The Lutheran Family of the Association of Evangelical Lutheran Churches (AELC) to meet at the 8:00 a.m. service with Pastor Thunder officiating.

 

THE REV. DOUGLAS THUNDER

When Pastor Bergmann accepted a call in 1984, Pastor Thunder served as interim Pastor from 1984 to 1985.

THE REV. RUTH HANUSA and THE REV. STAN PESIS

Pastor Hanusa and Pastor Pesis were installed on June 26, 1985. St. Paul's Lutheran Church and The Lutheran Family merged in 1985 and became St. Paul's Lutheran Family. When the new denomination Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) was formed, the merged congregation was included as a member.

Pastor Ruth Hanusa accepted a call to another ministry in 1991.

Pastor Pesis continued serving St. Paul's until his retirement on June 30, 2014.

THE REV. JAMES GOLDSMITH

From October 5, 2014 to January 31, 2016, Pastor Goldsmith served as the interim Pastor.

THE REV. MARY LOU PETITJEAN

From March 9, 2016 to January 31, 2017, Pastor Petitjean served as interim pastor.

THE REV. CHAD R. ADAMIK

On February 1, 2017, Pastor Adamik began his ministry as St. Paul's Pastor.

Pastor Chad was formally installed in a special service on Sunday, March 9, 2017. 

He resigned effective July 17, 2022, to move with his husband,  Rev. Thomas Blake, to Connecticut.

THE REV. MICHAEL "MIKE " PATTERSON

Rev. Patterson served as interim pastor at St. Paul's from October 2022 to Novemeber 2023.

In October 2017, St. Paul's celebrated its 50th Anniversary in ministry in the Carson City area and joined in the observance of the 500th Anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation (October 31, 1517).
